Jenny King is an actor, writer, and theatre educator returned stateside from a two-year jaunt in London where she obtained her MFA in Acting from East 15 Acting School/University of Essex. She currently resides in NYC, with local housing also available throughout the state of Texas and in Los Angeles.

Before hopping the pond, she graduated summa cum laude from Baylor University with a BFA in Theatre Performance and Minor in Dance. While at BU, Jenny found several different outlets for performing - perhaps most uniquely, running around in a bear suit as the university's official mascot Bruiser. Baylor also provided Jenny her first opportunity to visit London through a study abroad program during which she fell head over heels for the city.

After graduation, Jenny moved to North Texas to teach dance and theatre in the Grand Prairie Independent School District at the primary and secondary levels. During this time she performed in Equity and independent theatres throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, including Circle Theatre, PFAMily Arts, and in Watertower’s Out of the Loop Festival.

Along with three Texas teaching certifications (Theatre EC-12, Dance 8-12, Physical Education EC-12) Jenny has also been a member of Texas Dance Educators’ Association.

During her time in London, Jenny had the pleasure of working and performing at Shakespeare's Globe and various off-West End theatres throughout the city center. She worked with directors such as Ian Brown, Tony Graham, and Vicky Ireland and studied acting for film under Jonathan Firth. In October 2014, Jenny traveled with her cohort to Moscow where she worked for a month at the world-renowned GITIS, Russia's oldest acting school.

During the summer of 2015, Jenny and several of her classmates took their theatre company - The Barrington Collective - to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where they were invited to perform two original pieces, one of which (Reconciling) Jenny wrote herself. At Ed Fringe, Reconciling received all four star reviews and regularly more than tripled the average Fringe audience size.

Reconciling received its American premiere during August 2016 as a part of FringeNYC's 20th anniversary season at SoHo Playhouse where it was named a "Best Bet" of the festival. Jenny is also the recipient of the 2018 Arts & Letters Drama Prize for Reconciling which will be produced in April 2019 at Georgia College.

Jenny is currently writing and auditioning in New York City where she has interned for New Dramatists and served as the assistant literary manager at The Barrow Group. She co-produces The Barrington Collective's Holiday Reading Series (ongoing since 2017) and has developed an introductory Laban workshop for guest lectures at universities and conferences across the country.
